Research group in plant protection

Our research group is mainly focusing on research in agricultural entomology and plant pathology. We preferentially study corn leaf aphids (Rhopalosiphum maidis) and green peach aphids (Myzus persicae) as virus vectors. We study the intensity of virus transmissions and interactions between weeds, cultivated agricultural crops and aphids. 
Other research themes with corn leaf aphids and green peach aphids includes:
- Environmental effects on aphids.
- Predators-aphids interactions in GMO crops.
Another model species are pea aphids (Acyrthosiphon pisum) and Tansy (Tanacetum vulgare) aphids (Metopeurum fuscoviride), where we study the genetic background of their host plant adaptation. Other research themes with these aphid species includes:
- Apparent competition between pea aphid populations through predators.
- The effect of predation on aphid wing induction and alarm pheromone production.
- Rapid host plant changer of aphids under predation.
Our research in plant pathology includes the effects of plant extracts on different fungal diseases as apple scab (Venturia inaequalis) and monilinia species (Monilina fructigena, Monilinia laxa) in apple, pear, cherry and chaise plantations.
