Although training the next generation is not one of the project's specific objectives, it nevertheless plays an important role in our research group's work. This year, on May 6, the 28th Transylvanian Scientific Student Conference on Agricultural Sciences was held in Miercurea Ciuc, where Kincső-Katalin Orbán, a master's student in plant medicine in our research group, presented her paper entitled "Germination tests on white clover (Trifolium repens L.) and lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) treated with zinc oxide (ZnO) nanomaterials." As a result of her presentation, our student received praise and was nominated for the next OTDK!
We congratulate her and wish her perseverance and further success in her work!

Our active involvement in nurturing the next generation continued in Timișoara: our project leader, Gábor Kovács, took part in the 27th Scientific Students' Conference in Engineering Sciences (MTDK) from 15–17 May as a member of the jury, and was moreover honoured with an invitation to deliver the event's keynote lecture. The subject of the talk was closely connected in several respects to the theme of our project, as the title already suggests: Nanomaterials in agriculture: selected findings, promises and risks of next-generation fertiliser additives.
Congratulations to the students on their fine work, and thanks to the organisers for the opportunity and for their dedicated efforts!
